Great Canadian Adventure Tour visits Kalavida

Jeff and Chris Eager, the brothers behind The Great Canadian Adventure Tour, left Nova Scotia on September 9 and embarked on a cross-Canada adventure tour to to encourage Canadians to explore and travel in their own country.  They decided to stop in Vernon, BC to check out Kalavida and the Standup Paddleboard scene. The crew made the visit on October 9 and ended up staying for the whole day to check out the shop, Kal lake and even managed to get some hiking in as well. BC River SUP – Return of the Chucks

May showers bring spring flowers…. and high water on BC’s network of rivers and creeks.  And when it’s high water in BC, Telus and Shaw are makin’ mollah cuz every whitewater kayaker’s phone is buzzing and blinging.  “OK, this might be a little crazy but we’re gonna go for it anyway”  said Carl Jacks, our impromptu whitewater kayak expert – A role he didn’t choose by design but rather by necessity and possibly survival.  Five Stand Up Paddleboarders were set to take on the Skookumchuck rapids near Mabel Lake and it was Carl who would act as our guide.
