2011 Rogue Stand Up Paddleboards – Graphic delights
Canada is quickly becoming a hot market for Stand Up and the latest entry into the scene is Rogue SUP from San Clemente, CA. Their ‘All-Water’ boards feature a variety of appealing graphics and they’re great on lakes and rivers and perform well in head-high surf. For 2011, Rogue has expanded their quiver to feature a line of racing and touring boards including a ‘Canadian specific’ design on their new ‘Drifter’ touring model. Their 12’6 Race Board dubbed the ‘Outlaw’ (Carbon Inlay) is expected to weight in at around 24lbs…

Adding to an already stellar line of SUP boards, Surftech has released their 2011 catalog and it’s choc full of sweet rides. We had a chance to surf a few of the new boards at the BOP in California and were impressed. Of course, there isn’t much surf here in the Okanagan so the line-up of Bark and Lahui Kai race boards will put some zip into your stroke (and stoke) and we expect the ‘race’ category to grow quickly. Did you know that the 12’6 Bark Competitor went through a weight-loss program?….. Yup…. almost 10lbs making it one of the most sought after race boards on the market now. Full Story
BC River SUP – Return of the Chucks
May showers bring spring flowers…. and high water on BC’s network of rivers and creeks. And when it’s high water in BC, Telus and Shaw are makin’ mollah cuz every whitewater kayaker’s phone is buzzing and blinging. “OK, this might be a little crazy but we’re gonna go for it anyway” said Carl Jacks, our impromptu whitewater kayak expert – A role he didn’t choose by design but rather by necessity and possibly survival.
