Surftech has officially released their 2010 Stand Up Paddle Board line-up and along with their already solid quiver of boards, there’s some exciting new rides to choose from. The SUP race scene is growing fast around the globe and Surftech has answered the call with two new race-specific boards and much more. Of course the Laird Tuflite and Softop remain as two of the best all-round SUP boards around and they now introduce several new styles for both surf and flatwater.
Racing Boards – On the heels of Jamie Mitchell’s convincing win at the 2009 Battle of the Paddle, Surftech introduces the Mitcho - a finely tuned and shaped 12’6 x 27″ race machine. And then there’s the 12’6 x 29″ Bark Competitor that features a very unique design and it’s ready for action.
Touring Boards – The award winning 14′ Bark Expedition is available in two colours and will be a popular board on the lakes this summer. The 14′ Laird Coast Runner is another great touring board with a whopping 286 liters of volume.
Surf and Flatwater – The Laird Tuflite and Softops remain as the best all-round boards and the Wood offerings are one of the sweeter looking boards around. For the novice paddler, there’s the Randy French Softops at 11’6 and 10’6 – both with high volume ratings to keep you stable in most conditions. Robert August has added another great longboard-inspired ride to the line called ‘What I Paddle’ at 11’6 x 31″. Look for a few new Donald Takayama models coming in the late spring as well.
Behold the Laird 11’6 Tuflite – One of the best all-rounders. Questions about which size is best for you? Learn more about ‘Volume’ and board sizes here.
